Tourist hotspot Trafalgar Square is most famous for Nelson's Column, standing over 200 feet high. Before Admiral Lord Nelson was set aloft the column, 14 stonemasons held a dinner at the top of the pedestal - these days, celebrations are kept on ground level when over 4 million revellers join to ring in each New Year.
